El Royal Plaza on Scotts és un hotel independent situat al bell mig del districte comercial de Singapur, Orchard Road. Hi ha una parada d’autobús just a l’exterior de l’hotel, el qual només es troba a 5 minuts a peu de l’estació Orchard MRT des d’un pas inferior.

En el moment que entro a la recepció: vaja! La recepció és espaiosa i els pètals daurats i de color carmí (que recorden a les orquídies Phalaenopsis) destaquen des d’un fons de color xampany.

Hi ha molts quadres que representen la cultura malaia. La recepció també està acuradament decorada amb molts objectes com ceràmica, llibres i gàbies per a ocells que recreen una còmoda sala d’estar singapuresa

En anar cap a la meva habitació, trobo un bonic passadís amb una catifa de color gris i groc. L’habitació és simplement espectacular!

Engalanada amb un alegre color groc i un tema floral, l’habitació transmet energia i felicitat, i, immediatament, millora el meu estat d’ànim. M’ha encantat l’acolorit quadre floral que és la peça central de l’habitació. Hi ha una versió més petita del quadre al lavabo (no escatimen en detalls.) El Royal Plaza on Scotts té l’habitació més bonica de Singapur, juntament amb el Crowne Plaza.

No es tracta d’un hotel gasiu, ja que l’habitació està molt ben il·luminada. Hi ha llums de lectura a cada costat del llit. El Royal Plaza on Scotts també entén les necessitats del viatger modern. Hi ha endolls universals i ports USB a cada costat del llit, perfectes per carregar el teu telèfon, tauleta, etc.

L’habitació és espaiosa. Hi ha una banyera i una cabina de dutxa. A la dutxa, hi ha construït, molt consideradament, un seient.

Compta amb ruixador efecte pluja. Els productes d’acollida Vitaminspa vénen dins d’uns tubs de color verd i tenen una agradable i vigoritzant essència cítrica.

Pots aprofitar el minibar gratuït de l’habitació, complet amb refrescos i sucs de fruita.

També hi ha una màquina Nespresso amb càpsules gratuïtes de Ristretto, Vivalto Lungo i Volluto Decaffeinato. Les bossetes de te provenen de la luxosa marca mundialment coneguda TWG (The Wellbeing Group), com Singapore Airlines. Totes aquestes begudes es reposen diàriament.

Pels turistes, explorar Singapur mai ha estat tan senzill. Sempre un pioner, el Royal Plaza on Scotts ha introduït dades il·limitades gratuïtes en un dispositiu de butxaca que està disponible en cada habitació. Els hostes poden dur el dispositiu wifi de butxaca cap a fora i compartir dades mòbils amb fins a 5 dispositius. Ara, tota la família pot estar connectada a internet mentre explora la ciutat.

Cada tarda, de 15.00 h a 17.00 h, serveixen un agradable té de la tarda de tres nivells al saló del club, que es troba al 15è pis. M’agrada l’antic te de la tarda de tres nivells. Té panets anglesos amb melmelada i crema fresca, sandvitxos i dolços asiàtics i occidentals.

De les 17.30 h a les 20.00 h, és l’hora del còctel al saló. A diferència de la majoria d’hotels de Singapur, serveixen vi espumós. La selecció de vins també destaca dels altres hotels. La majoria només ofereixen un vi negre i un de blanc. El Royal Plaza on Scotts ofereix Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon i Pinot Noir. Els vins són deliciosos. Alguns hotels serveixen vins realment inferiors.

L’esmorzar al saló del club és genial. Tenen una gran varietat i són generosos a l’hora de reomplir els productes del bufet.

El servei és molt professional i honest. Els treballadors semblen ser persones determinades que volen fer un realitzar una bona feina.

En definitiva, puc entendre per què el Royal Plaza on Scotts ha estat al TTG Travel Hall of Fame després de guanyar el premi al millor hotel independent d’Àsia pacífic durant 10 anys consecutius. Ben merescut!

Taking your first step into the cultural experience

Enter the hotel lobby that mirrors the early days of the Peranakan’s residence – with an iconic representation of the two-storeyed colorful shophouses.  Walk into a living room of a typical Peranakan home at the Concierge and take your eyes through the exquisite display of items that are representative of the culture – including food contains that bears traditional prints of phoenixes and peonies, porcelain pillows and basic stand which are commonly found in the homes of the Peranakan. Look through the lives of early locals and the activities that used to take place exactly at where the hotel is situated now in an art piece at the central wall of the Concierge Lounge.

Journeying through the lives of early day locals

Make your way through the guestroom corridor of the main tower and hotel’s public spaces with the plethora of textures and colors. The British-inspired columns, which are commonly seen in architecture during colonial times, are embellished with a series of intricate art pieces.

Recreated by local artist Gladys Chow, these visual treats are a combination of traditional Chinese motifs and mosaic tiles, seen through in a minimalist’s lenses. The sense of local heritage brews with the seamless blend of traditional geometrical-patterned tiles and Batik motifs.

Floored with a bespoke carpet that runs along the corridor ways of the guestroom floors take reference from the phoenix, which signifies peace and prosperity in many traditional households of the past.  The meeting points of contemporary and culture is where a modern representation of the phoenix was used as inspiration for the patterns on the carpets along the corridor way and further replicated in the guestrooms for a seamless transition.

Resting in a brand new culture

Making up most of the guestrooms, the Deluxe Rooms, brings luxury and elegance to a new level. Expect to rest after a long day in the room with light-filled interior design in a balanced blend of textures and colours, silk-threaded wall coverings and panels against white walls and gold trimmings on the ceiling. Bringing the Pernankan experience into the room, the headboard above the beds are made with padded silk covering that depicts a contemporary interpretation of Peranakan tile motifs, produced exclusively by FBEYE International, using a traditional technique of block-printing.

Adding a further touch of luxury and visual experience, the finishing touches further include feature mirrors as well as beautifully marked decorative veneer with marquetry details on furniture such as the writing desk.

The mini-bar refrigerators in the guestrooms are set within cabinets that are fitted with black lacquered doors made of mahogany veneers and solids, teem with a champagne gold gilt finish, diffusing the beauty of oriental charm.

Rest well in the guestrooms that are neutrally donned in shades of white, duck egg blue and gold, with the composition of colour tones in the adds a sense of timelessness to the culture-inspired room.

The refreshed heritage-inspired design extends across all 338 guestrooms of the main tower, in room categories including the Club InterContinental Rooms, Business Rooms, Premier suites as well as the Executive, Ambassador and Presidential suites.

Royal Plaza on Scotts is an independent hotel located right in the heart of Singapore’s Orchard Road shopping district.  There is a bus stop just outside Royal Plaza on Scotts and the hotel is just 5 mins on foot from Orchard MRT station from an underpass. 

As I stepped into the lobby, WOW!   The lobby is spacious and petals of gold and crimson (reminiscent of the Phalaenopsis Orchid) stand out from a background of champagne colour. 

There are many paintings depicting Malay culture.  The lobby is also carefully curated with many artefacts such as ceramics, books and bird cages to resemble a comfortable, Singaporean living room.

Going to my room, the corridor is beautiful with a yellow and grey carpet.  The room is just gorgeous! 

Decked out in cheery yellow with a floral theme, the room feels so cheery, happy and lifts my mood immediately.  I loved the colourful floral painting that is the centerpiece of the room.  There is a smaller version of the painting in the bathroom—- they don’t neglect details.  Royal Plaza on Scotts has the most beautiful hotel room in Singapore, along with Crowne Plaza, Singapore.

This is not a stingy hotel—- the room is very brightly lit.  There are spotlight reading lamps on both sides of the bed. Royal Plaza on Scotts also understand the needs of the modern traveller.   There are universal electric sockets and USB ports on both sides of the bed, perfect for charging your phone, tablet etc. 

The bathroom is spacious.  There are a bathtub and a shower stall.  In the shower stall,  they have considerately constructed a seat. 

The de rigeur rain shower is present.  The Vitaminspa bath amenities come in lovely green tubes and have a lovely energising citrus scent to them.

You can take advantage of the free in-room minibar,  complete with soft drinks and fruit juice. 

There is also a Nespresso machine with free Ristretto, Vivalto Lungo and Volluto Decaffeineto capsules.  The tea sachets come from world-famous TWG,  just like Singapore Airlines.  All these beverages are replenished daily.

Exploring Singapore has never been easier for tourists. Always a pioneer,  Royal Plaza on Scotts has introduced free unlimited data on pocket wifi device available in every room.  Guests are free to bring the pocket wifi devices out and share mobile data up to 5 devices.  Now the whole family can stay connected to the Internet while out exploring Singapore.

Every afternoon from 3pm to 5pm, they serve a lovely 3-tier afternoon tea in the club lounge on Level 15.  I like the old-fashioned 3-tier afternoon tea.  It has scones,  complete with jam and fresh cream, sandwiches as well as Asian and Western sweets.

From 5.30pm to 8pm,  it is cocktail hour in the lounge.  A notch above most hotels in Singapore, they have serve sparkling wine.  The wine selection also trumps other hotels.  Most hotels offer only 1 red and 1 white wine.  Royal Plaza on Scotts offer Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc,  Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.  The wines are delicious.  Some hotels serve really inferior wine.

Breakfast in the club lounge is great.  They have quite a large spread and they are generous about replenishing the buffet items. 

The service is fuss-free and seems pretty genuine.  The staff seems like straight forward people who really want to do a good job.

All in all, I can understand why Royal Plaza on Scotts has been into the TTG Travel Hall of Fame after winning Asia Pacific’s Best Independent Hotel for ten consecutive times.  Well-deserved!

El Royal Plaza on Scotts es un hotel independiente ubicado justo en el corazón del distrito comercial Orchard Road de Singapur. Justo afuera del Royal Plaza on Scotts hay una parada de autobús y el hotel está a solo 5 minutos a pie de la estación del MRT de Orchard desde un paso subterráneo. 

Cuando entré al vestíbulo, ¡quedé impresionado! El vestíbulo es espacioso, con pétalos de oro y carmesí (parecidos a la Orquídea Phalaenopsis) que resaltan sobre un fondo de color champán. 

Hay muchas pinturas que representan la cultura malaya. El vestíbulo también está minuciosamente curado con muchos artefactos, como piezas de cerámica, libros y jaulas de pájaros que se asemejan a una sala de estar singapurense cómoda.

Yendo a mi habitación, observé el hermoso pasillo cubierto con una alfombra amarilla y gris. ¡

La habitación es simplemente preciosa! Decorada con un color amarillo brillante y una temática floral, la habitación se siente alegre, feliz y levanta el ánimo de inmediato. Me encantó la colorida pintura floral ubicada como la pieza central de la habitación. Hay una versión más pequeña de la pintura en el baño; no ignoran los detalles. El Royal Plaza on Scotts tiene la habitación de hotel más hermosa de Singapur, junto con el hotel Crowne Plaza de Singapur.

No es un hotel poco generoso, la habitación está muy bien iluminada. Hay lámparas de lectura de luz directa a ambos lados de la cama. El Royal Plaza on Scotts también comprende las necesidades del viajero moderno. Hay tomas eléctricas universales y puertos USB a ambos lados de la cama, perfectas para cargar tu teléfono, tableta, entre otros dispositivos. 

El baño es muy grande. Hay una bañadera y una cabina de ducha. En la cabina de ducha, han tenido en cuenta construir un asiento. 

También tiene una elegante ducha de lluvia. Los artículos de tocador marca Vitaminspa vienen en unos bonitos tubos verdes y tienen un aroma cítrico encantador y refrescante.

Se puede aprovechar el minibar gratis en la habitación, repleto de refrescos y jugo de frutas. 

También hay una máquina Nespresso con cápsulas gratis de café Ristretto, Vivalto Lungo y Volluto Decaffeineto. Las bolsitas de té son de la marca mundialmente conocida TWG, al igual que Singapore Airlines. Todas estas bebidas se reponen todos los días.

De 5:30 p. m. a 8 p. m. es la hora de cóctel en el lounge. Un punto a favor que lo coloca a un nivel superior al resto de los hoteles es que sirven vino espumoso. La selección de vinos también es mucho mejor que en los otros hoteles. La mayoría de los hoteles solo ofrecen 1 vino rojo y 1 vino blanco. El Royal Plaza on Scotts ofrece Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon y Pinot Noir. Estos vinos son deliciosos. Algunos hoteles sirven un vino completamente inferior a estos.

El desayuno en el club lounge es muy bueno. Tienen una distribución bastante amplia y son generosos al reponer los productos del buffet. 

Es un servicio simple y se ve bastante auténtico. El personal parece estar compuesto de personas sinceras que realmente quieren hacer un buen trabajo.

En definitiva, ahora comprendo por qué el Royal Plaza on Scotts ha estado en el Salón de la Fama de los premios TTG luego de ganar el premio Asia Pacific a Mejor Hotel Independiente diez veces consecutivas. ¡Bien merecido!
